Bay’s Beasley leads goal rush

Mat Beasley led the way with four goals as Bay United beat Woodmans Hall 9-0 in the Faversham Charity Cup junior section first round. Scott Welch added a hat-trick, with Buddy Rowden and Lee Caffell also on target for the Division 2 title chasers against their Division 1 opponents.

Faversham Strike Force, bottom of Division 1 without a win, swept aside Second Division Canterbury Toon 4-1 with Brad Falconer netting twice.

Rob Parker and Jake Stebbeds were the other marksmen.

Matt Hennessy’s double helped Division 1 side The Elephant to a 5-0 win over Tankerton, from the division below.

Steve Avey, Ky Hall and Pete Epps completed their tally.

Chislet beat Tankerton Royals 4-2 in the senior section with Ted Johnson, Teddy Nelson, Tom Lilley and Matthew Martin their scorers. Joe Walker scored both Royals’ goals.

Crusaders edged out Littlebour­ne 5-4, Bourne’s scorers being Robbie Loomer (2), Nathan Perry and Daniel Wells.

Herne United won the big game in Division 1, replacing Druids at the top after beating their rivals 4-2.

Sam Tritton, Liam Wellings, Billy Gambrill and Zak Holman scored for Druids with Stuart Baker and Dan Hall replying.

Monument Reserves won 3-2 away to Sauce FC – James Hart (2) and Joe Venes their marksmen. The Division 2 game between the Oyster Boys and Northgate Rangers produced 12 goals. The Oyster Boys won 8-4, led by Jordan Delacey and Connor Johncock, both of whom claimed doubles.

Joe Curtis, Ron Bensusan, Mike Moore and Billy Jemmet were the other scorers with Brad Hagger and Mason Nutt both scoring twice for Rangers. Dawes Hernhill Herons beat Canterbury Bombers 5-3, with goals from Joel Fraser (2), Ben Stead (2) and Connor Palmer. Bombers’ two came courtesy of Jason Craft and two own goals.

The sole match in the under-21 division saw Canterbury Eagles beat Lydd 3-1 to claim their second win in six starts.
