Thumping win tips scales Oyster’s way

Indoor bowls

A resounding win on one of the five rinks helped the Oyster Indoor Bowls Club to a 111-97 win over Thurrock in a friendly.

Maurice Odell, Janet Pamphilon, Peter Gibson and Eddie Swan handed their opponents a 41-7 defeat, helping the Oyster offset defeats in three of the other rinks.

Gordon Hayes, A. Perkins Keith Dellard, and Maggie Dellard were their other winners, beating their opponents 27-10.

Perkins, Keith Dellard, Maggie Dellard won 27-10; Dan Welch, Kay Lloyd, Janet Gray,brian Watson lost 42-14; K. Horton, Richard Whybrow, D. Harlow, Brian Gambrill lost 20-13. n An inter-club Christmas fixture, which paired the Elves against the Reindeers, developed into a close affair with only two shots separating the teams. Derek Boots, Tim Garlick, David Whamond and Sue Swan had the biggest win recorded by either team, getting home 34-9 for the Reindeers.

Debbie Good, L. King, A. Reid and Keith Dellard picked up the biggest of the Elves’ five victories, 25-11.
