Chances not taken by City

-

Frontman James Turner was on target for Canterbury City in their 1-1 draw with AFC Croydon Athletic on Saturday. Turner gave City the perfect start to the second half, levelling the scores within a minute of the restart after being played through by Tarik Ibrahim. That came after Umara Alpha had given Croydon a first-half lead in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division game.

“In the first 15 minutes, we had three golden opportunities to score, not just long-range efforts, but real golden chances,” admitted City jointboss Chris Woollcott.

“To then find ourselves 1-0 down was very frustrating.

“In the second half, there were two or three more opportunities. If it had been 1-1 and we’d had no chances, we would take it but we felt we had enough chances to win the game.”
