A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a daylight stabbing in a residential street. Police swooped on Brymore Road, in the northeast of the city, on Wednesday afternoon when a man was left with knife wounds on his arm and leg. A cordon stretching 50 metres was set up, with pedestrian and vehicle access to the street blocked off.
Officers were spotted scouring an alleyway which runs parallel with the busy Sturry Road.
A search was launched and a 19-year-old was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released pending further investigation. Police say the victim, who suffered stab wounds to his arm and leg, was taken to hospital and treated.
His injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening and he was later discharged. The force was alerted to the attack just after 2pm. Officers could be seen taking photographs as they collected evidence, and were focusing most of their attention on the alleyway and a neighbouring house.
