Bond-themed prize garden

James Bond creator Ian Fleming has been the inspiration for an award-winning garden design which has landed a small landscaping firm pride of place at the country’s top gardening show. Earthstone Landscapes, which is based in Ash, has earned the coveted first place in the prestigious BBC Gardeners’ World Live exhibition in August, where it will create the garden. The accolade comes on top of another prestigious award - this time for garden maintenance - which it received from the Association of Professional Landscapers.

The business is run by partners Alison Coxhead and Ian Day, who manage a 10-strong team from the site in Hoaden Lane.

“For a relatively small business like ours, it’s quite an achievement,” said Ian. Alison’s winning design used cues and themes from Bond films, like giant dice for seating.
