CANTERBURY BC

Canterbury maintained their good start in the Forest of Blean League with a 105-72 win over Herne Bay, claiming a 6.5-1.5 victory overall.

Canterbury suffered their first East Kent Mixed Triples league defeat with a 98-106 loss to Thanet and a 6-3 defeat overall.

WHITSTABLE BC

Whitstable played an early round of the Catherine Wheeler League last Thursday against Ramsgate BC and it was as close as it gets.

The three teams playing at home lost by a single shot, 54-55 and the away teams also lost by one, 52-53. They received six league points, while Ramsgate got 11.

On Tuesday, the club played its first Forest of Blean League match against Faversham with the usual home and away division of the teams.

Two of the home-based teams won in a 49-30 success while two away sides also won in a 48-44 scoreline, giving an overall 97-74 win and six league points.

On Thursday, four mixed triples from SEK Police BC came to the Castle green where the host club won on two rinks, lost on one with one rink tied. Overall, 69-60 to the hosts.

HERNE BAY BC

Herne Bay only gained

1.5 points in the Forest of Blean League game against Canterbury, winning only one of the six triples played. However, Bay fared better in their opening East Kent Mixed Triples league match of the season, winning five of the six triples played against Minster.
