Caterbury’s home game with Folkestone lasted just six overs before the rain led to the match being stopped. Folkestone were struggling for runs, having reached 12-0 when the teams walked off. St Lawrence & Highland Court started their reply against HSBC before the rain left the match incomplete. Hosts HSBC were 156 all out and St Lawrence were 43-3 off 11.4 overs with Charley Nash unbeaten on 20, chasing a revised target of 117 from 50 overs.

Chestfield 1sts were bowled out for 89 in a five-wicket defeat to OD CUACO. Joe Wall hit 20 and Sam Harvey’s 11 was their only other double-figure score. Harvey also took a couple of wickets as OD CUACO got home with plenty to spare. Whitstable’s Division 3 match against Gravesend was another one left incomplete. Byron Gould (52) scored a half-century for Whitstable and Stuart Drakeley added 37 but they were all out for 149. In reply, Gravesend were 121-6 off 34 overs before the game was stopped. Faversham (118-9) lost by five wickets in their match against Bapchild (122-5) in Division 5. Will Dear (30) and Chris Smith (41) contributed runs but few others stuck around.

It left the visitors with a target that they chased down relatively comfortably. Benedict Croft took 3-21 with the ball. Thomas Harris hit an unbeaten 61 for Faversham 2nds in their 60-run victory over Milstead. Defending 166-6 in the 30-over contest, Faversham restricted the hosts to 106-9 in reply, with Carl Aker picking up 4-16.

St Lawrence and Highland Court Ladies 2nds won their opening match in the Kent Women’s Development League by 30 runs, at Cousley Wood Cricket Club, Wadhurst. St Lawrence scored 156-8 in their 35 overs. Genevieve Jeer, just 12 years of age, opened the batting for the away side and retired not out on 52, on her debut for the club’s ladies section.

In reply, Bells Yew Green scored 126 all out in 33.1 overs. The St Lawrence wicket takers were Jaime Cooper (4-15), Kaya Clark (2-9), Lucy Hayward (2-39), Hannah Kruger (1-17) and Jeer (1-27).
