Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District

JUST A SMALL SHOW OF DISTRICT’S APPRECIATION…

- Laura Grantham

 A very sincere thank you to the receptionists, practice nurses and doctors at Canterbury Health Centre, especially Dr Patel. So professional and efficient always - thank you.

Deirdre Harrington  To all the workers at East Kent Microbiology, carrying out hundreds of Covid tests every day on top of all the other work you do. Thank you and have a wonderful Christmas.

Sharon Dawson  To my Sister Charlotte Greenwood, she has worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit all the way through the pandemic. She has lost friends who were nurses and soldiered on. Merry Christmas Cha, and all the nurses at the QEQM Margate.

Andrew Richardson  Thank you to the staff and doctors at Whitstable Health Centre, and to the five crews of Paramedics at South East Coast Ambulance Service who attended to my wife and myself, getting us safely to the QEQM on four occasions. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the QEQM for the care we received, and lastly to the doctors and nurses on the Virtual Ward at the Estuary View Medical Centre.

A big thank you to you all for getting us both through Covid.

Adrian Foad  Beechtree - all the staff and carers, especially my mum’s main carer Lee Jones - for all that you do, and district nurses who come and do her insulin daily. Merry Christmas.

Tracy West  To all the nurses at New Dover Road doctors’ surgery, especially Terri and Charlene, from Sam and Rosalie.

Samantha Allen  Heron Medical Practice, whenever needed always make sure you can see someone.

Hayley Dawn  The Heron Medical Practice and QEQM Hospital, all absolutely amazing.

Shelley Walters  Thank you to each and every one of you.

Tracy Smith  Thank you to all the NHS workers looking after me through my cancer journey, and they are still looking after me despite how busy they are. No delays and they were never not taking appointments and doing treatments. A big shout out to all on the ward I used, Cathedral Ward.

Kim Heath  Park Surgery, who have kept up services as well as running a great vaccine clinic.

Moyra Feathers  Fiona Yildirim for her vigilance, passion and dedication in keeping vulnerable people safe. For being a fantastic, kind and caring nurse and an all-round good egg.

Bev Keene  Vicki Gaiger, for all the extra shifts she did for the ambulance service! Over and above.

Dawn B Gaiger  Thanks to all the staff at Sturry Doctors’ Surgery for all their hard work during the pandemic.

Sandra Harris  Merry Christmas to my NHS colleagues who have all worked above and beyond over Covid.

Julie Loxley  I would like to thank Fiona from Lyndhurst Rest Home Tankerton, for the care that she showed my father before he passed away, and the care that she gave his family afterwards.

Richard Sell  Really too many to mention just one as we have been so very well served here in Whitstable from my experience and those close to me... but here we go:

Eleojo Miachi and her Audio Team at K&C Hospital, ENT throughout EKHUFT, primary care throughout CT5 under the direction of Dr John Ribchester and my GP Dr Richard Brice at Whitstable Health Centre. John High opticians and audiology in Whitstable High Street, Tyrell and Jones Pharmacy in Tower Parade, Kelvin House Dental Practice. Groups and practices, also many individuals within them, deserving of special mention.

Maureen Smith MBE  Dr King at Estuary View. She has been so supportive and seen me through some difficult times, this year and previously. She always has time to talk and knows me and my family in a way that reminds me of the family doctors of years ago. She must be working under enormous pressure but is always a kind, compassionate listener. Dr King is an absolute treasure and a credit to the practice.

Tara Terry  Every one in the NHS deserves our sincere thanks. Richard Farbrace  Thank you to every single member of staff at Medway Maternity who helped deliver our baby daughter Evelyn during lockdown in early March 2021. From the midwives and doctors to the staff that kept me fed, during the most immense pressure you blew me away with your kindness and the care that was always with a smile (behind the masks). You are truly an inspiration and I’m so happy to have been under your care.

Rebecca Gibson  Luke - I didn’t catch his surname - a HCA who was working in QEQM A&E Sunday night, who treated everyone with kindness, respect and humour despite it being very busy. Also, the whole Pathology team at QEQM. Without them working very hard in the background, all the tests that need doing on blood etc in the hospital wouldn’t happen. They save lives but never get mentioned.
