Harrison is riding high

There has been plenty of cause for celebration for teenager Harrison Crosby of late.

The 16-year-old leads the eightround British Talent Cup series after the opening rounds and he will return to action at Oulton Park, Cheshire, this weekend.

Crosby, of Bethersden, near Ashford, who attends the Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Faversham, has also agreed to join the Pro83 Academy portfolio of riders.

Mum Jo revealed: “He has just been accepted into the Pro83 Academy, which is run by [British Superbike rider] Danny Buchan.

“He is one of three being accepted into the Academy.”

It comes after Crosby, of Banks Racing, took secondplace finishes in both races at Silverstone.

“It was a very good start, we were pleased with that,” his mum admitted. “Hopefully he can continue it. “We would love to win it and he is focused on winning it, but there’s other good riders in there.

“With racing, it’s anybody’s game. You could crash or break down.

“But he did manage to get the two second places, which has put him into the lead because there were two separate winners, which is really good.”

He finished his 2021 campaign seventh overall after taking podiums places at Knockhill and again at Silverstone.

Crosby, who started riding when he was 10, is also preparing for a busy period at school. Jo commented: “He is just coming up to his GCSES so there’s lots of pressure on him. “But he has been studying quite far in advance. “When he is at home, he is focused on his studies but, at racing, we are focused on the racing.” Crosby will sit his GCSE exams in May - it will be the first time exams have been sat since prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mum Jo says they are always looking for support and sponsors.

His Facebook page is “Crosby Racing” and his website is at crosbyracing.co.uk
