An impressive line-up of live music and fireworks will be coming to Thanet for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Quex Park in Birchington will be hosting two outdoor events on consecutive days in June for the bank holiday weekend.

Organisers will showcase tribute bands, fireworks and “many surprises”.

On Saturday, June 4, the National Symphony Orchestra will be performing classical numbers from their extensive back-catalogue - including musicals, and film and TV scores.

The Prom and Picnic event will also see a host of special guests - with gates opening at 3.30pm closing at about 10pm.

Joining the orchestra will be the stars from West End show The Simon and Garfunkel Story.

Other guests include the Manwood Singers from Sandwich a choir of about 50 people who sing a wide-variety of music to “suit all tastes”.

Neil Duncan will be performing as the legendary Dean Martin.

Also joining the orchestra will be soprano Annette Wardell, who has been featured in British Vogue as one of opera’s rising new stars.

The evening will finish with a spectacular firework finale.

Quex Park will open its gates again for a tribute concert the following day - with artists paying homage to their favourite singers and rock legends.

The line-up includes Bon

Giovi, Niqi Brown as Tina Turner, Queen tribute band Majesty, George Michael tribute Beyond Faith, and more.

Both concerts plan to have a street party feel and there will be a variety of food outlets and a licensed bar available. Guests can also bring their own food and drink.

Tickets for the prom are £28.50 per adult and £77.50 for a family-of-four. Child tickets are discounted, with under-8s going free.

For the tribute night, tickets are £20.40 for adults and £55 for a family-of-four.

A ticket for both events costs £43.50 per person, or £130 for a family.
