Hats off to Loomer after cup treble

Robbie Loomer scored a hat-trick as Littlebour­ne won 4-1 at AFC Herne Bay in the senior section of the Whitstable Charity Cup. Michael Smith got the other goal, with Spencer Richards on target for AFC Herne Bay.

Gavin Marsh, now on 14 for the season, struck twice for Woodnesbor­ough Reserves in their 3-1 success at Faversham Athletic. Brad Thorpe got their third while Jason Mills replied for Athletic. In the other Whitstable Charity Cup clash, Lewis Pout and Sam Ryan found the net for The Bull in a 2-0 win over Whitstable Town. Betteshang­er Welfare are within two points of Division 1 leaders Elham Valley after a 5-1 win at Wingham.

There was a Rikki Christian double and one each from Travis Austin, Jared Lawrence - now on 11 this season - and Taylor Page. Toby Taylor netted for Wingham. Rodney FC, through goals from Lewis Rye, Gab Morton and Owen Pickering, won 3-2 against the University of Kent Monument. They took an early lead through Jack Bright, with Pete Ellis scoring their other effort.

Jed Brown’s penalty and a goal by Callum Perkins saw Your Future to a 2-1 success over Minster.

Herne Bay & Whitstable Sunday League

Two-goal Joe Lester guided Division 1 The Druids to a surprise 4-0 victory in round one of the Charity Cup’s senior section at Premier Division leaders Littlebour­ne. Sidrit Brecani and Jeremy Lee struck too. Premier Division Frames were also stunned, going down 4-2 to Faversham Strike Force from Division 1, despite a Chris Lewis double.

In the Second Round, efforts by Liam Wellings and Sam Staunton saw Rising Sun - who still have a perfect Premier Division record - to a 2-1 success over Heron United. Second-bottom Chilham lost 4-3 at home to Monument in the Premier Division, Ben Walsh among the Chilham scorers.

Braces from Mat Beasley, Callum Russell and Charlie Nicholson saw Bay United to a 6-0 home win over Division 2 basement boys Chartham, who are still without a point this term.
