Faversham Strike Force’s Women secured a thirdplace­d finish in South East Counties Kent Division 1 East with a hard-earned 1-1 draw at Sheppey United this month – their best league finish in five years.

A brilliantl­y-taken goal from Diba Artingsoll put the Force ahead, only for Sheppey to reply shortly afterwards. Left-back Kim Bolden was Strike Force’s player-of-thematch for a terrific attacking display.

The under-16s were good value for their 2-2 draw in a physical battle against highfliers Sturry Kings.

Their goals came from Oliver White and Jake Stear, assisted by Oscar O’dea and Mason Atkins. Argjend Nimanaj and Toby Sears netted for under-14 Lightning as they also shared four goals with Deal Town Rangers in a friendly. Zakk Ellis scored and was named player-of-the-match after under-11 Lightning’s entertaini­ng friendly match against Sittingbou­rne Girls. Riley Hawkins, Elliott Jones and Zach Luong also netted. There were two goals and assists for Joe Oliver, as under-10 Thunder put in a strong display against Whitstable Town White.

Rex Deller, Sonny George Tumber and Isaiah Beaney claimed the other goals. Millie Smith scored an excellent volley and was energetic in defence as she was named player-of-the-match for under-9 Lionesses against Whitstable Town. Nancy Neale was also excellent at the back. Under-8 Hurricanes enjoyed a hard-fought match against Deal Town Rangers. Morgan Cross was named top player on the day for his excellent all-round play. Under-8 Tornadoes and Canterbury Eagles both played some great football.

Abel Kingsley was named player-of-the-match for his bravery in goal while Tyler Jolly got on the scoresheet.
