WEIRDLY-NAMED READING QUARTET BRING THE FUNK ON DEBUT EP

■ THE FINAL Clause Of Tacitus (yeah, we’ve got no idea what that means, either) deserve credit for daring to take their music to rarely-travelled waters. There’s not many bands around at the moment dealing in this sort of Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Rage Against The Machine funk-metal hybrid.at times it’s rather ludicrous, but their groovy riffs and angsty attitude are certainly good fun, and the mighty fine shredding on give Them Blood is to be admired.‘we’re bringing back the funk,’ declares vocalist Matt Dunne on 7Years. They’ll need to up their game in the future to bring the funk back for good, but for a debut EP, this is a bold and assured effort. DOWNLOAD: 7 Years. FOR FANS OF: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine.
