BRIAN FALLON & THE HOWLING WEATHER, VOCALS/GUITAR/PIANO
SO,YOU’VE JUST PLAYED AN ALBUM RELEASE SHOW IN WHAT IS USUALLY A NIGHTCLUB…
“I didn’t know that! Normally, whenever you do anything in conjunction with a record store, you play in the store and there are a million and one racks of records, and no-one can see. It’s like playing in an aisle in a grocery store! So this was cool.”
THE REACTION TO SLEEPWALKERS WAS HUGE – THAT’S PRETTY RARE FOR A BRAND-NEW LP…
“Definitely. People are responding faster to this record than anything since The ’59 Sound. I’m really excited, and I feel like I’ve found my footing more – well, I had my footing, and then I lost it, and then I found it again, over the course of the past several years! And now that I have it again, I’m not turning back – this is forever forward.”
AFTERYOUR UK PIANO DEBUT, CAN WE EXPECT A NEW INSTRUMENT PER TOUR NOW?
“I never thought of that! I think the piano is probably where it stops for me. If I can get good at guitar and piano, I’ll be happy. It’s cool, because it adds another element. It’s not like I’m going to sit there and play The ’59 Sound every night, but I can pick any song that I’ve ever written. It makes the show different every night, which is really important.”
