FOR FANS OF: VUKOVI, Don Broco, Mallory Knox

■ This EP from Swindon newcomers All Ears Avow is a record teeming with ambition. Opening with a title-track that’s as brash as it is intricately structured, this quartet clearly aren’t interested in holding anything back, and this joyously brazen approach continues across the remaining four tracks. The bass-driven All Your Pieces is the highlight, and it’s an anthem that’s powered by the mightily impressive display of vocalist/ guitarist Claire Sutton, whose vocal range and charismatic performance suggest a star in the making. Elsewhere, Got Lucky possesses plenty of groove, Over The Wall is charged by Claire’s impassioned delivery, and final track Fake brings things to a triumphant conclusion. Skin & Bones is a smart and stylish release that’s crammed with exuberance, aspiration and promise, and such is this record’s quality, you should keep your eyes and ears focused on its creators over the coming 12 months.
