School praised for new learning vision
Top report for Nether Robertland Primary
Children and young people from Nether Robertland Primary are celebrating after a top report from Education Scotland.
The school was praised for their new vision - Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow - as well as their values,determination, teamwork, respect and responsibility.
Education Scotland published their findings of the Stewarton school’s recent inspection last month and in all four quality indicators - leadership of change; Learning, Teaching and Assessment; Ensuring Wellbeing, Equality and Inclusion, and Raising Attainment and Achievement - the school was evaluated by inspectors as ‘very good’.
The children and young people were praised highly, being described as respectful, polite and confident; who were very proud of their school, that they work well together and enact the school’s values in everyday life.
The strong leadership of the school was recognised as a strength, with both head teacher Jackie Beveridge and depute head Debbie Lindsay being identified as working very well with their full team, providing a clear direction and strategy for continuous improvement.
The whole team were recognised as very effective and providing quality learning experiences for the children and young people.
Head teacher Ms Beveridge said: “Education Scotland visited our school for a week in January and the team of inspectors observed every aspect of school life.
“It was a very positive experience and we are all incredibly proud of our report.
“We are fortunate to have such wonderful children and young people attending our school.
“They made the school and their families very proud.
“As head teacher, I am also thankful to all of the wonderful team of teachers, support staff and supportive partners across our school community.
“The positive inspection outcome really is a testament to their ongoing commitment to provide the very best experiences and outcomes for all of our children.”
Councillor Elaine Cowan, Spokesperson for Education and, Children and Young People was joined at Nether Robertland Primary by local members Councillor Ellen Freel and Councillor Stephen Canning, and Graham McGinn, Depute Head of Education.
Councillor Cowan said: “I visited Nether Robertland Primary to congratulate head teacher Jackie Beveridge and the whole school on this fantastic report from Education Scotland.
“The strengths identified by inspectors are clear when you visit the school.
“The wellbeing of the children and young people is central to all the work carried out, relationships between the staff and the children and young people are positive and all children and young people are supported to feel included in the life of the school.”
