Sir­dar's new sparkle yarn is per­fect for this project. We've made ours for a lit­tle girl but you could eas­ily knit a crown in a dif­fer­ent colour for a boy, as the yarn comes in seven glit­tery shades, in­clud­ing a rich royal pur­ple.

CROWN HEAD­BAND Us­ing 4mm nee­dles and 2 strands of Yarn B held to­gether, cast on 9 sts. **Work 14 rows in moss stitch. Next row: Moss st 4, MB us­ing 2 strands held to­gether of Yarn A, moss st 4. Next row: moss stitch *** Re­peat 16 rows of pat­tern from ** more times. Work 14 rows in moss stitch. Cast off (or work to length to fit round child’s head if this dif­fers and then cast off). Us­ing 2 strands of Yarn A worked to­gether and 4mm nee­dles, pick up and knit 94 sts evenly along top edge of band. Knit 1 row. Cast off.
