OFFSET RIB PATTERN (multiple of 4 sts; 18-round repeat) Rounds 1-9: *K3, p1; rep from * to end. Rounds 10-18: *P1, k1, p2; repeat from to end. Repeat rounds 1-18 for offset rib.
COWL Using a crochet hook and waste yarn, create a provisional cast on (a crochet chain) of 116 sts. (Try this online tutorial you’re unsure: bit.ly/1Qr0Iz4) Change to Taupe. Join for working in the round, being careful not to twist your sts. Place marker for the beginning of the round. Knit 1 rnd. Next round: Change to offset rib (see stitch pattern below left); work until piece measures approximately 35.5cm (14in) from the beginning, ending with round 9 or 18 of pattern. Knit 1 rnd, cut yarn. Next round: Change to Natural and (knit every round); work until piece measures 66cm (26in) from the
st beginning, then cut yarn. Change to Taupe and knit
MAKING UP With RS facing, carefully unravel provisional cast on and place sts on spare needle. Fold cowl in half at beginning of Natural and, using kitchener st, graft live sts to sts from provisional cast on. Block as desired.
