COWL Us­ing a cro­chet hook and waste yarn, cre­ate a pro­vi­sional cast on (a cro­chet chain) of 116 sts. (Try this on­line tu­to­rial you’re un­sure: Change to Taupe. Join for work­ing in the round, be­ing care­ful not to twist your sts. Place marker for the be­gin­ning of the round. Knit 1 rnd. Next round: Change to off­set rib (see stitch pat­tern be­low left); work un­til piece mea­sures ap­prox­i­mately 35.5cm (14in) from the be­gin­ning, end­ing with round 9 or 18 of pat­tern. MAKING UP With RS fac­ing, care­fully un­ravel pro­vi­sional cast on and place sts on spare nee­dle. Fold cowl in half at be­gin­ning of Nat­u­ral and, us­ing kitch­ener st, graft live sts to sts from pro­vi­sional cast on. Block as de­sired.
