Identify these three Lancashire women who were at the forefront of the fight for the right to vote
1 Voted the greatest ever Lancastrian in our poll last year, this Manchesterborn suffragette founded the Women’s Social and Political Union. 2 In 1905 this Oldham woman became the first suffragette to be jailed for her actions and a letter she wrote on her release from Strangeways is now on display in Gallery Oldham. 3 A campaign was launched this year for a statue of this Prestonborn woman to be erected in the city. She was imprisoned after burning down Sir William Lever’s bungalow at Rivington and blowing up the Exchange Buildings in Liverpool.
