Your wildlife fea­ture (April is­sue) sug­gested that we should all be kin­der to slugs be­cause they help to build soils and pro­vide prey for a va­ri­ety of animals. I com­pletely un­der­stand this but I – and my hostas – wish they’d go and do it somwe­here else! Jackie Reynolds, via email
