Meet Todd White at Hepplestone Fine Art
The BBC Todd White is one of those people who simply seem to have it all, looks, charm and talent... and a distinctive style and down to earth personality that have won him an international reputation.
Born in Texas in 1969, Todd White relocated to Hollywood in his twenties and worked in animation developing characters at some of the most renowned production studios in the country. He was even part of the lead team for the international hit cartoon series Spongebob Squarepants. During this period, White started to forge his artistic style by experimenting with colours and concepts, eventually arriving at the working method that now guides him through every piece. Always naming his pieces first,
Todd visualises faces and personalities and then develops each person’s story. He spends his life people-watching - scribbling down sketches whatever the situation (often on napkins or even tablecloths) to record an idea for his next work. ‘’Everyone’s hands are full of personality,”’ says White, “They reflect the subject’s state of mind almost as much as facial expressions.”
The multi award winning artist was chosen from hundreds
of artists as the Official Artist of the GRAMMY® Awards and in 2009 was invited by Warner Bros. to contribute to a major design exhibition celebrating the 70th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. One of these special Oz paintings was snapped up by Sylvester Stallone for a record price for the artist of $250,000. This year he has been invited back again to produce an 80th Anniversary collectors edition featuring Dorothy which will be on show at Hepplestone Fine Art.
Now, one of the world’s most collectable and successful living artists, White will be showcasing his latest original paintings and limited edition prints at Hepplestone Fine Art at Heskin Shopping Village near Chorley , where he did his first ever UK personal appearance. Every piece of Todd White artwork purchased on the evening of the exhibition will be personalised by the artist who will produce an original sketch of the buyer on the reverse of the piece – what a unique one off opportunity.
