Surely the best known Northern artist of the Twentieth Century was the one and only L S Lowry. Famous for painting the industrial North West, his works now sell for millions and his images are ingrained in our consciousness.

Given the affection with which Lowry’s paintings are held, the demand to own his work is intense but unfortunately the prices of his original paintings are out of the reach of most and even his signed limited edition prints have appreciated into the thousands. With this in mind, Hepplestone Fine Art were honoured to have the opportunity to exhibit the works of his great friend and legendary art dealer, George Aird.

After sixty years in the art business as a dealer, publisher and framer to the great and the good of the Northern art scene, George Aird has called time on his iconic Grove Galleries business at the grand age of 84.
