Praise from MP for fi­nal­ists in the north west’s ma­jor award for women

Arecord number of women from across the Lake Dis­trict have been short­listed for the En­ter­prise Vi­sion Awards – bet­ter known as The EVAS – brin­ing high praise from South Lakes MP, Tim Far­ron.

He said the group of successful busi­ness­women were help­ing to ‘put Cum­bria on the map’ af­ter 17 were named as fi­nal­ists for the awards, sup­port by lan­cashire Life. It is six more than last year.

The EVAS, which cel­e­brate female en­ter­prise and the ac­com­plish­ments and success of busi­ness­women through­out the North West, is the largest fe­ma­le­only awards cer­e­mony out­side London.

Judges re­ceived hun­dreds of ap­pli­ca­tions from busi­nesses across the re­gion this year, and as EVA rep­re­sen­ta­tive, Camille Win­kle­man, ex­plains, Cum­bria’s ‘bumper year’ is ex­tremely en­cour­ag­ing. ‘This
