WILD TIMES, WILD PLACE

Lancashire Life - - PLACES TO VISIT -

It often surprises visitors that Bowland isn’t more famous and, while many locals prefer it that way, tourism is growing all the time.

Bowland is for wildflower meadows and conservation, dark sky status for star-gazing and wildlife walks, all of which can be found on the AONB’S website. Cloudspotting, is a music festival taking place from June 21-23 in Gisburn Forest and from September 21 to 29 there is The Foodie Foray, a celebration of Bowland’s fantastic seasonal, local produce. It’s a week of walks, foraging and feasting led by local experts to learn about the edibles in our hedgerows, fields and woodlands on a series of foraging and herbal medicine walks. www.forestofbowland.com
