Spirit of Harrogate have gone and done it again! They have developed a delicious new flavor of Gin to add to their growing spirits range, this time in the form of Gooseberry. Similarly, to their famous Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin, the new addition began life as a development gin which was made available to their customers to taste in store. Due to its popularity and positive feedback – the Gooseberry Gin was bottled and is now available to buy!

Slingsby Gooseberry Gin is the second fruit gin the brand has launched and follows in the footsteps of their hugely popular Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin. Like all their gins, it uses the same botanical

mix and classic citrus base of the Slingsby London Dry Gin, however the addition of fresh Yorkshire gooseberries brings an unmissable tangy sharpness tempered with a sweet and fruity finish.

The idea to create a Gooseberry Gin for taste testing came from Slingsby’s co-founders Marcus Black and Mike Carthy. Slingsby were Official Suppliers to the British & Irish Lions for their 2017 tour of New Zealand and Mike and Marcus were lucky enough to visit New Zealand to cheer on the team. Whilst they were there, they took a liking to its New Zealand Sauvignon which is renowned for its gooseberry style finish on the pallet, giving them the inspiration for the next product.
