Low car­bon diet

Stick­le­barn, the Na­tional Trust’s only owned and run pub is among the first in the coun­try to use a car­bon cal­cu­la­tor to let din­ers know what the car­bon foot­print of each dish. This is the lat­est en­vi­ron­men­tal measure the Lang­dale pub tak­ing. At Stick­le­barn, dishes with a lower car­bon im­pact in­clude black bean burger at 0.86kg. The con­ser­va­tion char­ity has teamed up with Lan­caster Univer­sity’s Mike Bern­er­slee, a lead­ing ex­pert in car­bon foot print­ing to pro­duce the rat­ings, and pro­vid­ing din­ers with a choice to lower their car­bon foot­print.
