An annual arts festival is set to turn Longridge into one huge studio
be decided. Create Longridge Chair Simon Smith noted: ‘Create Longridge is about so much more than just painting. We envisage the fringe programme will grow every year, encompassing an increasing variety of creative pursuits. It allows those who may not feel so confident with their painting ability to get involved, have fun and be creative in other ways. The children’s classes have been a huge success every year and give the town’s schoolchildren another outlet to show their creativity. We hope there is something for everyone.’
‘Everyone really enjoyed the day last year,’ said Alistair Sheret of Longridge Gallery. ‘Create Longridge brings not only highly talented and creative people to the town, it attracts hundreds of residents and visitors. Those residents and visitors in turn support our local businesses, the very reason Create Longridge was conceived. The enthusiasm for the event from local businesses is significant. All our prizes have already attracted sponsors.’
Raymond James Investment Services based on Berry Lane, Longridge are sponsors of the first prize for the second year. ‘With our business being based in the heart of Longridge we are honoured to again be sponsoring such an amazing event, which fuses together the community, culture and the picturesque town of Longridge all in a single event,’ said Wayne Hayhurst, founder and Branch Principal of the business.
Kier Living are second prize sponsors. ‘We are committed to building communities not just homes,’ said Carolyn Walsh, Sales and Marketing Director for Kier Living Northern. ‘Create Longridge is an event that builds community pride and we are delighted to be associated with that.’ Local company Touchline Fabrications is third prize sponsor, building on its tremendous support of community initiatives across a range of sectors.
‘Create Longridge would not be possible without the support of sponsors, the town’s residents and visitors. If anyone would like to become a sponsor and be associated with the event, please get in touch. Similarly, if anyone has skills they feel would help the event we would love to hear from them,’ said John Swift of the Create team and owner of Swifts Hardware.
