A mouth-wa­ter­ing menu of food, drink and en­ter­tain­ment

You are warmly in­vited to a feast of fam­ily fun in Clitheroe on Satur­day, Au­gust 10, when the town hosts its an­nual food fes­ti­val.

This free-to-en­ter event will show­case food burst­ing with flavour from over 100 of the re­gion’s best ar­ti­san pro­duc­ers, in­clud­ing:

Bil­tong beef and out­door-reared Bow­land pork

Siz­zling sausage piroshky and Cin­na­mon burza

Beet­root gravad­lax and or­ganic ‘Bob’s knobs’

Devil pie and spicy ‘weap­ing reaper’ sauce

Cherry Bakewell gin and peanut but­ter hum­mus

Pro­duc­ers are screened for qual­ity and this year’s fes­ti­val fea­tures many with a na­tional rep­u­ta­tion, among them Choc Amor, Fat­jax Chut­ney, Lea­gram Or­ganic Dairy and Port of Lan­caster Smoke­house.

And the event will dish up a huge dol­lop of street en­ter­tain­ment, in­clud­ing the plate-flipping and nap­kin-sculpting slap­stick of the Com­edy Wait­ers; the pop­u­lar Mad Sci­ence, who will set up a se­ries of fun sta­tions fea­tur­ing mad­cap demon­stra­tions and hands-on ac­tiv­i­ties, and non-stop live music.

The Clitheroe Food Fes­ti­val is one of Lan­cashire’s most pop­u­lar events, at­tract­ing 18,000 vis­i­tors to the town cen­tre.

It is or­gan­ised by Rib­ble Val­ley Bor­ough Coun­cil and spon­sored by Bow­land Brew­ery and Fort Vale En­gi­neer­ing.

Food en­thu­si­asts will find plenty to whet their ap­petites at this year’s event, so you are warmly in­vited to come along to Clitheroe and tuck into a feast of fam­ily fun.
