Blackpool Tower

Blackpool is a favourite with stag and hen parties and it’s also a popular spot to get hitched. And if you want impressive wedding photos, there can be few better places anywhere than Blackpool Tower. You can tie the knot in the glorious ballroom, or 380feet up at the top of the Tower blackpooltower.com.

Ashton Memorial

What could be more romantic than a wedding at a monument to one man’s love for his wife? The memorial was commissioned by Lord Ashton in memory of his second wife and took five years to build, by which time he had re-married. The gleaming white folly which stands in Lancaster’s Williamson Park with views over the Bay is still a spectacular placed to get hitched, though. lancaster.gov.uk.

The Liver Building

Liverpool was once actually married to the sea (no, really – liferings were thrown in the Mersey at the end of the ceremony) and two Liver birds perch high on the roof of the famous old building. One looks out to sea, keeping an eye on the city’s seafarers, the other watches over the city, protecting the loved ones left at home. Romantic, eh? royalliverbuildingvenue.co.uk.
