Debby Don­nelly-ad­di­son’s com­fort food is per­fect for a cold, dark Novem­ber night

back and in­dulge our lazy, glut­tonous sides for a lit­tle while. The gar­den needs less at­ten­tion, and the dark nights are the per­fect ex­cuse to stay in­doors with a good book. The sea­son of com­fort eat­ing is upon us, and it’s sud­denly ac­cept­able to gob­ble up pas­try, but­ter and ba­con with glee. This month’s recipes em­brace all that is in­dul­gent, creamy and but­tery, a starter for the fes­tive feasts of De­cem­ber. I al­ways think of Novem­ber as the Fri­day of the year, and th­ese are cer­tainly what I would con­sider to be Fri­day night recipes.
