Land Rover Monthly

LARGER THAN LIFE!

Land Rovers and their owners are big on personality, as you’ll find out inside this month’s LRM...

- DAVE PHILLIPS

Land Rovers are big vehicles – and their owners are often larger than life, too. Such is the case with this month’s cover stars: Chris Kill and the Defender he affectionally calls his Monster Truck. It’s an appropriate nickname for a vehicle that dwarfs all around it on account of its big wheels and lifted suspension. And if you think Chris looks a tad familiar, that could be because you’ve seen him before. Back in October 2010 he was LRM’s youngest-ever cover star when he appeared with a brilliant Defender 90 he had restored himself, at the tender age of 17.

Since then, Chris has got into bigger and better things and these days runs his own Land Rover business. But rather than spoil the story, I’ll leave you to read all about it in our special feature, starting on page 44.

There’s no doubt Chris has become a Land Rover fan for life. In which case, he certainly won’t be lonely – there are plenty of us. If you don’t believe me, get to the Billing Show this summer and join the massed ranks of Land Rover enthusiasts from all over the world who descend on this sleepy corner of Northamptonshire to share their passion.

This year is Billing’s 25th birthday – full details, including booking information, can be found inside this issue on our news pages, and via our website.

Have you got a Land Rover you want to sell? Or unwanted spare parts in the back of your garage? If so, why not advertise them in LRM Classifieds? It’s the best way of getting your message to tens of thousands of fellow enthusiasts. And, best of all, it’s free! See page 190.

Whatever you do this month, happy Land Rovering!

of all, it’s free!”
