Land Rover Legends at Bicester Heritage

-

THE NEW Land Rover Legends show at Bicester Heritage on May 26 – 27 is generating huge interest, according to organiser Richard Grafton of Historic Promotions. “Most of the national Land Rover clubs have now booked stands and we are looking forward to an exciting display of vehicles. We have already received a large number of nominations for the inaugural Land Rover National Awards,” he says.

Owners can nominate their vehicles for the Awards via the event website at www. landroverlegends.com. The owners of shortlisted vehicles will receive free tickets and VIP weekend passes. Tickets for the show can also be ordered online and 20% discounts are available for the members of participating clubs.

Among the awards is The Footman James Land Rover Legends Award. The award will be granted to a winning story that depicts the true essence of the iconic marque, and you can submit your story at www.footmanjames.co.uk. The lucky winner will be interviewed at the event and will see their Land Rover displayed on the Footman James stand. The prize also includes a pair of VIP weekend tickets, a feature in the programme, Bicester Heritage goodies and a trophy.

As well as mobile indoor displays of vehicles on both the Saturday and the Sunday, including some very special Series I and Series II vehicles to commemorate their 70th and 60th birthdays respectively, there will also be a number of ‘Star Vehicles’ on display in the hangar. Mark Evans, TV vet and host of ‘A 4x4 is Born’ will host interviews with people associated with each Star Vehicle. The first Star Vehicle to be announced by the show organisers is the One Ten that won the Camel Trophy in 1989 in the hands of Bob and Joe Ives, who will both be present throughout the weekend and will share some of their experiences regarding that unique British win.

A number of organisations have also signed-up to support the event including Farer and Footman James, while ‘Octane’ and ‘Land Rover Monthly’ magazines are delighted to be the official media partners for the show. In addition, the Dunsfold Collection will have a large number of its vehicles on display.
