Come to Kelmarsh
THE Kelmarsh Land Rover Show held on July 27 - 28 is the largest festival dedicated to the green oval in Europe. Moreover your favourite magazine will have a stand there so you can meet the team behind LRM and take part in our daily competition to win a bundle of goodies, including a place on one of our exciting off-road days. As a thank-you to subscribers we’re giving away free Defender Magbooks worth £10 while if you’re new to LRM you can grab a free Outwell camping chair worth £50 with every annual subscription, which costs just £47 – a huge saving on buying it monthly from the shops. Alternatively if you’d like to trial the magazine you can get a free Leatherman multitool.
With over 80 clubs from old favourites to newbies from the Land Rover community showcasing over 800 vehicles, jam-packed main arena action, products, equipment and services on offer from over 200 traders, visitors can also expect great food (with an authentic Independent Street Food Avenue), drink (with a new addition of craft beers and real ale on tap) and live music throughout the weekend.
But they’re also in for a special treat. John Lawn, the man responsible for creating the arena at the Peterborough Show, will be designing an incredible arena course on which the UK’S best drivers will be testing their metal throughout the weekend. Dubbed the Kelmarsh 90-degree Challenge arena, you can watch some of
Britain’s leading winch challenge vehicles battle it out in a survival of the fittest to become this year’s champion.
This new terrain is completely separate to their usual off-road course, which by the way, has been upgraded and is now situated just seven minutes up the road at the superb Avalanche 4x4 off-road centre. The Avalanche Adventure tough terrain track comprises hard and soft ground, steep inclines, shallow and deep water, side slopes, axle-twisters and an extreme wooded section. And the best bit? Suitable vehicles will be granted access to the extreme wooded section at no extra cost.
Also new for 2019 is the Kelmarsh Adventure Forest for just £10 per experience. This will offer keen individuals an opportunity to show off their driving skills and put their own vehicles through their paces on their purpose-built forest trail with options of red or black routes for the more advanced off-roaders.
And there’s more. 1948 Original Equipment will be demonstrating bushcraft techniques, and both children and adults can come and have a go. Talking of kids, there’s plenty of stuff going on to keep them entertained too, with Big Top tents, talent shows, tightropes, play and circus skill workshops, stilt walking, balloon modelling, and even a Land Rover to graffiti! What’s more it’s all free of charge.
