Defender Jam

The Defender Jam takes place on Saturday August 31 at Kelburn Castle and Estate in Fairlie near Largs, and promises to be a relaxed family festival. A gathering of like-minded people, with Land Rovers of all shapes, sizes and ages, along with good food and drink, it's a good one to put in your diary.

Leafers Only

The Patina National RTV Trial run in conjunctio­n with the Yorkshire Land Rover Owners Club takes place on Saturday September 7 at Helmsley, North Yorkshire. The Patina National is for non-shiny road-legal leaf-sprung Land Rovers and is a RTV Trial. With Series Land Rovers competing in three classes, up to 87in, 87in to 95in and over 95in. Leaf sprung non-land Rovers including Jeeps and Austin Gipsys are also welcome.

In addition to overall class awards there are awards for non-land Rovers, best-dressed crew, furthest-travelled and more.

If you want to turn your trip to the Yorkshire Moors into a full weekend then the YLROC will be running a RTV trial on the Sunday or there will be the opportunit­y to drive local greenlanes.

Camping/caravannin­g is available at a local site which will be the club base for the event and is within walking distance of local pubs. Details and booking forms will be available on the YLROC website: ylroc.co.uk
