Is there ever a bad time to buy a Land Rover?

Why, then, has LRM decided to publish our 2022 Land Rover Buying Guide in this issue? Sir Ranulph Fiennes once said there is no such thing as poor weather, but a poor choice of gear or clothing is very real. I say, there is no such thing as a bad time to buy a Land Rover but there are bad Land Rovers out there because of factors such as irregular and poor servicing or dodgy rebuilds.
Sadly, many a Land Rover fan has ended up with egg on their face after buying their dream Land Rover and then later on finding out that actually it was a nightmare buy. Don’t be the guy who buys a Discovery 3 for £5k but ends up spending that on repair bills in the first 12 months of owning it. Read our guide on page 30. Land Rovers are robust, durable and always in high demand, even when things are tough economically. Buy wisely and your Land Rover could give you a return on your investment. It is also guaranteed to give you miles of smiles. Of course, there may also be the odd moment of despair when it requires some sort of repair.
I would like to thank all of those who attended LRM’S first show of the year, the Malvern 4x4, Land Rover & Vintage Spares Day on the last Sunday in February. It may have still been winter but we had a pretty strong turnout of enthusiasts looking to bag a bargain. Maybe this was because it was held in conjunction with the Tractor World Parts and Spares Day. I loved looking at all the tractor bits and old classics.
LRM’S next event will be the Newbury 4x4, Land Rover & Vintage Spares Day on 10 April, and by then spring and better weather should be the order of the day.
