TERRAFIRMA TF1200 TACTICAL SEAT COVER

-

PRICE: £70 CONTACT: Terrafirma4x4.com

THE T1200 is billed as the ultimate car storage system and is designed to organise all your expedition, off-road and motoring kit. I must say that when it was first handed over to me I thought it was some sort of tactical vest that came with a Taser.

It is fully adjustable and the cover will easily fit all popular 4x4 seats; it’s secured by using the Velcro straps and bungees.

The seat cover is made from superior quality 600D lightweight ballistic polyester, and the military-inspired webbing pouch system is expandable to accommodate all sorts of gear and equipment. Included in the kit is the seat cover with front, side and extensive rear webbing sections, meaning you can customise the positions of the seven varied pouches while also adding specialised kit of your own.

I thought I’d try it on my early Disco 3. You can fit the cover in five minutes, but make sure to check with the supplier that it’s suitable for your seat as some aftermarket bucket seats, those with all-in-one headrests, will struggle.

The cover goes some way to protect the seat at the front from wear and tear and dirt, which when you have poverty-spec cloth upholstery like I have, is a good thing. All pouches can be moved thanks to the Molle fixing system. The lower rolled up part even drops down to give access to a string bag.

The great thing about the cover is you can add to it by buying additional Molle (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) pouches – I have a Molle bottle holder already which is great to fasten to the cover. Parents will also appreciate the cover because kids in the back can store snacks and books in it.

Some overlanders like to have a grab bag in the event of having to abandon their vehicle. You could use this cover to store your vital items and in the event of an emergency, pull it off the seat, throw it over your head and wear it like a tactical vest.

This is an exceptionally useful product that helped me tidy up my D3’s cabin – I now know where everything is. Now, has anyone seen my Taser?
