Sweet spring bakes are en­hanced with a pinch of salt. Be­cause the quan­tity is so small it can­not be tasted, but it will de­velop and round out the flavours. With­out it, items can taste flat, or overly sweet. Flavours which are par­tic­u­larly en­hanced by salt in­clude lemon, al­mond and vanilla.
