Snug cosies

-

Using scraps of fabric to make cosies keeps boiled eggs warm from stove to table. Two rectangles of fabric approximately 3 x 4in (7.5 x 10cm) are cut from the chosen fabric. Shapes such as the outline of a rabbit or egg are cut from contrasting scraps and stitched to one piece, with the short sides at the top and bottom. A name may be backstitched in contrast thread. The two pieces are then pinned right sides together. A loop of ribbon is tucked between them at the top. The long sides and top are stitched together, with a gentle curve added to the top. Excess fabric is trimmed and the cosy turned right side out.
