PICNIC CAKE
A picnic spread is crowned with a chocolate sponge cake, served with fresh summer fruits and cream. Left plain after baking, the cake is easier to transport than if it were topped. Once at the picnic spot, a generous layer of strawberry jam is spread on it. Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are placed on top of the jam. A dusting of icing sugar completes the topping.
