Keeping the show going

-

Watering! It’s time to make sure that the pots that are now jam-packed with roots are watered and fed regularly to keep the best show going. I’m also watching out for pests such as whitefly building up on my tomatoes. In later summer it is advisable to cut off tomato flowers so the plants can concentrate on ripening the fruits already set. Leaves and side shoots should also be cut back now. At the end of August the hornbeam hedges will be tidied and have their tops cut.
