Smiling FaCes

Removing spent flowerheads on willowy cosmos encourages the plants to produce fresh blooms. Individual flowers can be trimmed off to save unopened blooms on the same stem. Cutting whole stems right back to the first leaf promotes bushier regrowth. Towards the end of the summer, leaving spent flowers to become seedheads allows the plants to self-seed for blooms the following year.
