Pebbles collected on the beach are easily turned into an attractive tie-back for curtains. To make: a piece of slim coloured rope is measured. It needs to be long enough to wrap around the curtain at least twice. An extra 12in (30cm) is allowed at each end, then the rope is cut. One of the selected pebbles is tied to the end of the rope and securely knotted. A second is then knotted in place above it. The process is repeated at the other end of the rope. Once all the selected pebbles are secure, the rope is passed around the curtain and loosely tied to display the pebbles at the front.
