For many years, young girls were expected to produce needlework samplers. These were designed to demonstrate their sewing skills. Most included alphabets, motifs, decorative borders and often the name and date of the embroiderer. This ‘Merry Christmas’ sampler from the Historical Sampler Company is worked in simple cross stitch following a chart. It comes as a kit with fabric, threads and chart. The frame is not included.
