16-17 April After the large drifts of snowdrops have faded in late March, the gardens at Benington are covered by Scilla bithynica, a dainty relative of the bluebell. With large clumps of daffodils flowering simultaneously, Easter is a good time to visit. The orchard in particular is a carpet of blue and yellow. www.benington lordship.co.uk
