Giant tree is a sight to behold

I enjoyed the feature ‘Winter’s Silhouettes’ in the Jan/Feb 2017 issue, and admired the tree shapes that the Devon artist had captured so strikingly. Here, in Hayling Island, we have an evergreen tree that is much admired. Located in St Mary’s churchyard, this yew tree is 2,000 years old and has a girth of 9m! Jackie Patrick, by email
