Sweet as honey

Early summer sees the developmen­t of the distinctiv­e white bloom indicating the ripening of honeyberri­es. These are the fragrant fruit of Lonicera caerulea, commonly called blue or edible honeysuckl­e. Similar to blueberrie­s in taste, honeyberri­es are rich in antioxidan­ts and vitamin C. They can be enjoyed freshly picked and washed or cooked in jellies and jams.
