Cotinus coggygria – the rounded leaves of the smoke bush turn a mixture of purplish-red and light crimson. Cornus controversa ‘Variegata’ – called the wedding cake tree because of its distinctive horizontal tiers, its foliage turns reddish purple, with more colour from blue-black berries.
