REWARDING ROUTINE

Spring is an important time for grooming all breeds of dogs as it is when they begin to moult. It is especially important for those with a longer coat, which will have grown thicker during the winter months. Brushing removes loose hairs and keeps the coat healthy and shiny by helping to distribute natural oils. It should start close to the skin and work away from the body. A comb will help to tease out the last of the tangles. The process should be soothing for the dog, and regular attention can reinforce the bond between owner and man’s best friend.
