Community efforts
Elspeth’s work is displayed in a mix of public and private spaces, and it is possible to visit various sites to see examples of her art. When the small town of Dunblane commissioned street signage with character, Elspeth worked alongside local school pupils. Together, they created two signposts and 12 mosaic panels, which can be found on the Allan Water Bridge. Her works at Royston Nursery also involved local children, who helped to design a new water play area out of recycled materials. She has also crafted a gate for Lennoxtown Cemetery and a decorative screen as part of a charity memorial at New Dumbarton Cemetery. A recent Heritage Learning Residency in Kirkintilloch led to a series of sculpture markers sited along the Forth and Clyde Canal, commemorating the former industries which stood there.
