Cupped in lAce

-

A paper doily wrapped around a glass makes a lacy springtime table decoration for displaying dainty flowers, such as pansies and dog rose. To make, the doily is folded into thirds vertically and horizontally, to make nine sections. It is then unfolded to lie flat. The central area should be slightly larger than the base of the glass. From the bottom edge, cuts are made with a pair of scissors following the two vertical folds up to the central section. The doily is turned around and two identical cuts are made from the other side. All pieces are then folded upward and glued to make a basket in which the glass can sit.
